currently listening to "Fever To Tell" by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. it's odd, i've been really looking forward to the album, but i've already actually heard most of it from live tracks i've downloaded thanks to the magic of the cyberinterweb
anyway it's good. though interestingly it kind of rocks less than i expected. the rockier stuff on it seems a bit less mad and shouty than, say, "art star" or the glory that is "bang". still great though, especially the more melodic tracks like "maps" and "modern romance"
i also found this funky fanlisting for the band. shit, i didn't even know what a fanlisting was till i saw this. i'm such a geek wannabe. i may have to track down lists of every other band i like now just to be properly anal about it
in the last couple of days i've gone to see Punch Drunk Love and Adaptation. they were both ace. i could go into more detail, but, really, what's the point? i'm sure you can find many other sites with much better film reviews on. enough to say that both were funny and very odd, while still managing to be quite heart-warming. i hate anti-intellectualism, but at the same time agree that too much irony tends to go into things these days. i can't enjoy something if i feel like the people who made it are sneering at me
briefly made a cameo appearance at basement music tonight. i felt grebby as fuck, having not realised we were actually going. i was wearing a grey t-shirt with bolognaise stains down the front! nice. i could feel the ladies of lancaster lining up to get me. what a catch!
by the way, when i said "cameo appearance" i meant i was there for just a bit of the evening. not that i turned up in a red codpiece with geordi laforge
