I haven't been to the Warehouse in ages. While it's usually a bit wank, photos like this make me nostalgic and think I should go again in the vaguely near future.
We're going to see Franz Ferdinand in Liverpool on Thursday, which I'm quite excited about. I got even more excited when I found out they're being supported by the ace Fiery Furnaces. I read somewhere that Furnace Lady is going out with Ferdinand Man, I don't know if that's real though. They should have a kid, it could be like some sort of indie quizatz hederach.
I'm getting even more touch-myself-happiness from knowing we're going to see The Walkmen at the end of the month, who are supporting The Stills. I *heart* The Walkmen, I think they're easily one of the coolest new bands to appear in the last couple of years. Well, sort of new, I realise they've all been kicking about in other bands since the 90s. It'll be nice seeing The Stills too, that album of theirs is pretty good. Reminds me of 80s British indie for some reason.
We all went to the Mill on Saturday to see The Superkings play. It was a pretty good gig, sadly they were on first so the place wasn't as full as it could have been. They seemed to make a good impression though, they've already been asked to come and do another Preston gig in a couple of weeks. I had a nice time afterwards as well, we all got blind drunk on cheap vodka doubles and danced like fools. Sexy fools. Poor Glenn got a bit too far gone and had to get taken home by Marie sometime around midnight. Heehee.
Today I'm just chillin' (like Bob Dylan) and trying to acclimatise myself to the fact that I have to go back to work tomorrow.
