So what's been going down on Liam Street then? Well, Paul's party was a laugh. Kind of old school, in a sitting-around-drinking-probably-ending-up-looking-like-a-dick way. That's cool though, if Paul and Christian are allowed to stalk around 90's nostalgia nights I don't see why I can't have the odd flashback experience now and then too. I took photos but haven't developed them yet, I had to use one of those disposable camera things as my digital one seems to be fucked. Half the time it just doesn't work, the rest of the time the flash doesn't. Money well spent!
I went to see Star Wars, it was kind of rubbish. Not awful, just lame. Despite my plans I'd allowed myself to get kind of enthusiastic about it, based on the frothing hype and general murmurings of good reviews. If I'd just assumed it was going to be the same half-arsed effort as Episodes 1 & 2 then I wouldn't have been disappointed... anyway, like I said, it was pretty poor. But nice-looking. I guess Maddox sums it up pretty well.
The Superkings played a gig in Blackpool on Tuesday, first time I've been to Blackpool in years. Didn't really get a chance to reminisce though, it was there in the car and then straight into some dingy underground bar to set up. Star27 were also playing, I've missed their gigs the last few months, in the interim they've really improved. I was wary of all the extra bandmembers they'd stapled on, it sounded really messy, but since then they've sorted it all out and it sounds mint. The Superkings were kind of sloppy, I think Dave was put off by missing his tea and then having to play to a mostly empty venue. Oh the trials of a rockstar. The SKs are on again tonight in Preston but I'm not allowed to go as I'm barred from the shitty venue they're playing in, so I think I'm going to the cinema with Sian and Huddy Johnson to see Sin City instead. I've heard very good things about the movie so hopefully it won't let me down, Lucas-style.
Tomorrow night we're going to Manchester to see yet another Superkings gig. This time it's at the Night & Day, which is a nice venue despite having some of the priciest lager ever. I have to avoid any booze devils trying to tempt me into staying out in Manchester, though that shouldn't be too hard as I have fuck all money. The whole no-job thing is really starting to kick in. Time to get a new job I guess!
