In other news, Christian's Xmas lunch was very nice, though as I suspected involved a preponderance of puddings. Pete turned up, drank two bottles of wine and got comically pissed, jabbering at length about dragonflies and heather to the rest of us, who were for the most part sober.
Tomorrow I'm off to Charlbury for the main event, I've not actually sorted out any presents for my family yet so I predict a nausea-inducing battle through consumer-scrums on Saturday.
