went to see Solaris this evening at the Dukes, it was so sad and beautiful. i was hoping it wouldn't spoil the original for me by being rubbish, but in fact i think i preferred it. it didn't have the cinematographic genius of the first one, but it connected with me a lot more. i think it felt more human, less removed.

anyway, it was good. score another point in the liam-astley-book-of-scores for clooney and soderbergh!
