Fucking hell it's hot. As one of my ex-work-colleagues used to say, "I'm sweating like a paedo in a creche". Speaking of work, I'm still between jobs at the moment. Lancaster doesn't seem to be the best place for scoring anything that doesn't involve telesales. Fuck that.

I'm visiting my family for a bit this week before returning home for the Superkings gig on Thursday. Last week I saw both Sin City and Batman Begins, both very good. I like how they seem to be making comic adaptations these days which aren't shit, and actually pay some attention to the source material. That said, Fantastic Four sadly looks like it's going to be the new Lost In Space. Wayne Griffith (or whatever he's called) has to be one of the worst castings ever for Reed Richards, and the Nip/Tuck lothario as Doctor Doom? Yikes.

Have you seen those Philips adverts on telly recently - like the one with the baby going "why can't technology be as easy as the box it comes in?" Well, maybe because recording a TV programme is going to be inevitably more complex than putting something in a box, you little moron. Anyway, I saw one last night that had some sort of "new exciting idea" for hospitals where they'd have images and films their patients like displaying on the walls around them as they underwent some medical procedure, with their favourite music playing, as a way of making them feel comfortable and relaxed about what was happening. The thing was, as the kid in the advert hopped into an MRI scanner while surrounded by walls showing fields of beautiful flowers, it looked exactly like one of those euthanasia rooms old people went to in Soylent Green. I'm telling you man, it's only a matter of time before those crazy fuckers in the Netherlands start using those rooms when they do in cancer victims. Then we'll start seeing bottles of Sunny Delight Green or boxes of Pop Tarts Green popping up on the supermarket shelves.
