I forgot to mention yesterday that I did make it to Lauren's party in the end and had The Fun. There was a slightly weird mix of people ranging from apparently random teenage college kids to elderly family members, I guess me and Paul were somewhere in the middle. At about 3am I remembered I had a camera and took a few exciting photos. Poor Paul was dragged into some sort of whiskey drinking vortex by a certain morose Punch lookalike and ended up being sick outside Lauren's house. We bring the class!
This Friday I'm off to Preston again, this time to experience the majesty of AIDS Wolf in someone's cellar. I'm looking forward to seeing them but I'm also slightly worried I'll end up stood next to them and get beaten with a microphone or they'll get naked or something. I'm a simple indie boy at heart, I'm not sure I'm built for subterranean noiserock moshpits.
Today's mp3 is by Atlas Strategic, Dan Boeckner's band that eventually split up (with him then going on to form Wolf Parade with Spencer Krug). This song was in fact recycled and retitled for one of WP's early EPs, but here's the original version.
